Approve an All Way Stop (from a One-Way eastbound Stop) at New River Road and I 17 Frontage Road. This agenda item is the result of a Traffic Engineering safety study conducted by MCDOT at the request of the residents of the area. After evaluating current traffic volumes, accident records and sight distance it was determined that warrants were met for a multi-way stop.

The Desert Lake Wash, Carefree Highway to Cloud Road Floodplain Delineation Study is a restudy of a section of Desert Lake Wash to update the study based on newer mapping. This study is being conducted by the Flood Control District of Maricopa County, and will analyze approximately 6860 linear feet of floodplain. The study is bounded by the State Land parcel at East Cloud Road to the North, East Carefree Highway to the South, North 3rd Avenue on the West and North 9th Street on the East (See study Map area). The area is mainly R-43 residential with a small portion on C-2 Commercial. Status: The study was stared in October 2017. The study is progressing with the review of hydrologic studies and preparation of the hydraulic model. Project Contact: Jennifer Lynch

County issues proclamation for Domestic Violence Awareness Month
On September 19, 2018, Maricopa County’s Board of Supervisors issued a proclamation today recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The county’s efforts create an opportunity for residents and Maricopa County’s more than 13,000 employees to learn about domestic violence prevention.
